Frequently asked questions
What is NowPrice?
A free, no-signup live-price site for the markets that move money — crypto, gold, FX, fuel, stocks, central-bank rates and commodities. Each niche has a hub with the live tape plus per-asset detail pages with sparklines, history and macro context. Aimed at people who watch markets in 5+ languages and need one clean dashboard instead of a dozen broker tabs.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free everywhere, no account, no email. The watchlist, portfolio tracker and price alerts all run client-side in your browser's localStorage. The optional Telegram bot (@NowPriceIOBot) needs a Telegram account but works for any market we cover — also free.
Where do the prices come from?
Crypto: Binance + CoinGecko (1 min). Gold: Yahoo + LBMA for XAU/USD, plus regional dealer feeds for SJC/PNJ/DOJI in Vietnam. FX: open.er-api.com + Yahoo (24+ pairs). Fuel: Stooq for WTI/Brent, then per-country primary sources (DGEG/Etalab/AAA/gov.uk) and GlobalPetrolPrices for the long tail. Stocks: Yahoo (26+ indices) + VNDirect for the VN-Index. Rates: TradingEconomics + central-bank press releases. Commodities: Yahoo v8 chart, plus scraped robusta + rubber.
How often are prices updated?
Crypto + FX: every minute. Gold + fuel: every 5 minutes. Stocks: every 5 minutes during market hours. Central-bank rates: every 6 hours (they rarely change intraday). News + economic-calendar fetchers run every 30 minutes. The homepage itself rewrites cached prices in place every minute — so an opened tab stays current without a hard reload.
Is there a mobile app?
NowPrice is a Progressive Web App — open the site on iOS or Android and pick "Add to Home Screen" / "Install app" from the share menu. You get a standalone icon, offline shell, and push notifications for price alerts you set in the watchlist. No app store needed, and updates land instantly when we ship.
