Frequently asked questions
Where do crypto prices on NowPrice come from?
Spot prices and 24-hour change come directly from the Binance public API every 1 minute. Market cap, circulating supply, and ATH come from CoinGecko (refreshed every 30 minutes). Futures funding rates come from Binance Futures.
Why does the price differ from Coinbase or Kraken?
Each exchange runs its own order book; small spread differences are normal due to fee structure, regional liquidity, and arbitrage latency. NowPrice quotes Binance because it has the deepest USDT liquidity globally; expect ~0.05–0.30 % difference vs. other major exchanges.
What does the funding rate mean?
The funding rate is paid every 8 hours between long and short holders of perpetual futures contracts. Positive funding = longs pay shorts (market is bullishly positioned); negative = shorts pay longs. It is one indicator of crowded positioning.
Are these prices safe to trade against?
NowPrice is informational. Live trading should always read directly from the exchange you are using — minor latency between fetches can cause slippage on fast-moving markets.
Why is my favourite coin not listed?
We list ~150 coins, prioritised by Binance USDT pair availability and market cap. To request a coin, email contact@nowprice.io.
