About VeChain
VeChain is a proof-of-authority blockchain launched in 2018 and led by Sunny Lu, a former Louis Vuitton executive in China. It targets enterprise supply chain, sustainability and product authentication use cases, using IoT sensors and on-chain records to track goods from manufacture to consumer. The network has a dual-token design: VET is the value-bearing asset used for staking and economic activity, while VTHO is generated by holding VET and is consumed as gas to pay for transactions. A small set of authority masternodes, vetted by the VeChain Foundation, validates blocks. The ecosystem includes partnerships with logistics, automotive, food safety and carbon-tracking organizations.
