About this page
Free, browser-only portfolio tracker — positions are stored in your browser's localStorage, never uploaded to our servers. Live P&L recalculates as prices move. Find symbols on any crypto, gold, FX, fuel, stocks or commodities page and add them with one click.

Frequently asked questions
Is the portfolio tracker free?
Yes — no account, no email, no premium tier. Add positions with one click and they live in your browser. NowPrice publishes the tracker the same way it publishes the live price feed: free because we use it ourselves.
Where are my positions stored?
In your browser's localStorage, under the key np_portfolio_v1. Nothing leaves your device — symbol, quantity, average cost stay client-side. Clearing site data wipes the portfolio. There is no cloud sync; the trade-off is privacy.
What can I track?
Crypto (BTC, ETH and 500+ tickers), gold (XAU spot + COMEX futures), FX (24+ pairs), fuel (WTI, Brent, retail gasoline), stocks (26+ global indices) and commodities (coffee, copper, grains and more). Use the typeahead on the Add dialog — it searches all six niches.
How is P&L calculated?
For each position: (current_price − avg_cost) × quantity. Quantities and average costs come from what you enter; current prices come from NowPrice's public JSON feed, refreshed every minute. We also surface portfolio-level totals: cost basis, current value, unrealised P&L absolute + %.
Can I mix currencies?
Yes — entries can be in USD, EUR, VND, BRL or any of the supported fiat. The tracker normalises everything to USD using the same FX rates that power the rest of the site (cache/data/gold/fx.json, refreshed every 6h). Foreign-currency positions show a footnote so you remember the FX conversion is approximate.
