About ApeCoin
ApeCoin is an Ethereum-based ERC-20 governance and utility token launched in March 2022 around the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem created by Yuga Labs. It is governed by the ApeCoin DAO, a decentralized organization where token holders vote on grants, ecosystem funding and protocol direction, with day-to-day operations supported by a separate foundation. APE is used as the primary currency in Otherside, a metaverse project from Yuga Labs, and is integrated into NFT collections, games and merchandise across the Ape ecosystem. The token has a fixed supply, with allocations distributed to community members, contributors, the Ape Foundation and early supporters.
