Fairtrade Launches Free EUDR Geolocation Tool for Coffee Cooperatives

Fairtrade International has launched Plot Insights, a free digital platform designed to help coffee and cocoa cooperatives manage and verify geolocation data ahead of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The tool aims to simplify compliance for smallholder farmers who often lack the resources to meet the regulation's strict traceability requirements.

The EUDR, which will require importers to prove that commodities like coffee and cocoa were not grown on deforested land after 2020, poses a significant challenge for cooperatives in developing countries. Plot Insights allows cooperatives to upload and store geolocation data, create maps, and share information with buyers, reducing the administrative burden.
