Bitmine Adds $74M in Ether as Tom Lee Bets on US Crypto Law Boost
Bitmine Immersion bought 42,197 ether worth about $74 million, boosting its total holdings to 5.74 million ETH as chairman Tom Lee cited improving US crypto legislation prospects.

Bitmine Immersion (BMNR), the largest corporate holder of Ethereum, accelerated its ether purchases last week, acquiring 42,197 ETH worth roughly $74 million at current prices. The company now holds 5.74 million ether, representing about 4.8% of Ethereum's circulating supply, according to a Monday update.
Chairman Thomas Lee linked the buying spree to improving prospects for U.S. crypto legislation, specifically the Clarity Act, which he believes could act as a catalyst for the asset. The company's total ether stash is now valued at approximately $10 billion, inching toward its stated goal of capturing 5% of Ethereum's supply. Bitmine also holds 206 bitcoin, $527 million in cash and marketable securities, plus stakes in other crypto firms.
For cryptocurrency traders, large-scale accumulation by a single entity can signal conviction in the asset's long-term value, but it also raises concentration risk. With nearly 5% of all ether held by one company, any shift in Bitmine's strategy could impact market dynamics. Looking ahead, the market will watch for further legislative developments in the U.S. and whether other institutional players follow Bitmine's lead in accumulating ether.
