Franklin Templeton, MoonPay partner for 24/7 stablecoin yield swaps

Franklin Templeton has partnered with MoonPay to let institutional investors swap stablecoins for shares in its tokenized money market fund around the clock. The integration links Franklin Templeton's Benji Technology Platform with MoonPay Trade's infrastructure, creating an onchain workflow for eligible institutions to exchange supported stablecoins for exposure to the asset manager's tokenized money market fund and back again without leaving blockchain networks.

The move expands Franklin Templeton's digital asset strategy. The $1.74 trillion asset manager has been pushing deeper into crypto, and in April announced plans to launch a new digital asset initiative. By teaming up with MoonPay, a leading crypto payments firm, Franklin Templeton is making it easier for big investors to move between stablecoins and yield-bearing tokenized funds seamlessly. This could attract more institutional capital into tokenized real-world assets, as investors seek 24/7 liquidity and the ability to earn yield without exiting the blockchain ecosystem.

For crypto traders, the partnership highlights the growing convergence of traditional finance and decentralized finance. Tokenized money market funds offer a way to earn yields comparable to traditional money market funds but with the flexibility of blockchain-based settlement. As more asset managers tokenize their funds, the demand for stablecoins and onchain infrastructure may rise. NowPrice's real-time crypto quotes can help traders track the latest prices of stablecoins and other digital assets as this trend develops. Investors should watch for further integrations between traditional asset managers and crypto platforms, which could broaden the range of tokenized products available to institutions.
