Phantom hires Hyperliquid market builders for perpetual futures push
Phantom wallet hired the creators of Ventuals, a Hyperliquid-based perpetual futures project, to bolster its trading and data teams.

Phantom, the popular crypto wallet, has hired the team behind Ventuals, a high-profile perpetual futures project on the Hyperliquid exchange, to accelerate its push into derivatives trading.
The wallet announced Tuesday that it brought on Alvin Hsia, Emily Hsia and Aris Samad, the creators of Ventuals, which shut down its OpenAI and Anthropic perpetual futures markets earlier this week. The trio will join Phantom's trading and data teams, according to CEO Brandon Millman. Ventuals had been one of Hyperliquid's most prominent experiments in trading private-company valuations onchain, but announced earlier this month it was winding down and joining another project within the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
For crypto traders, Phantom's move signals growing competition among wallet providers to offer integrated trading features beyond simple swaps. Perpetual futures have evolved from a niche product into a core revenue driver for many platforms, and hiring experienced market builders could help Phantom capture a share of that volume. Traders can monitor the impact of such developments on NowPrice's live crypto dashboard, tracking shifts in trading activity and market structure.
Looking ahead, the success of Phantom's derivatives push will depend on user adoption and regulatory clarity. The wallet's integration with Solana and Ethereum ecosystems gives it a large existing user base, but competing with established perpetual exchanges like dYdX and Hyperliquid itself will require robust liquidity and competitive fee structures. The crypto community will watch for further hires and product launches in the coming months.
