About Sandbox
The Sandbox is an Ethereum-based virtual world and game platform launched in its current blockchain form in 2021 by co-founders Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget. Players own parcels of virtual LAND as NFTs, build experiences using the no-code Game Maker, and trade items in an in-world marketplace. The native ERC-20 token, SAND, is used to buy LAND, pay for in-game actions, reward creators and participate in governance through the Sandbox DAO. Brands, entertainment franchises and artists have launched virtual experiences in The Sandbox, making it one of the most recognized projects in the broader metaverse and play-to-earn segment of crypto.
